1. Put yourself in place of one of the boys who escaped the crash but was forced to watch "helplessly as Rob died." What is going through your head? How do you feel physically and mentally? How do you think that you will feel tomorrow?
The thing thats going through my head is that could of been me. I feel scared and sad and I'm wondering what his parents are going to do. Tomorrow I'll feel guilty and very depressed.

2. When you hear or read of a car accident that involved teenagers, what do you tend to assume was the cause of the accident? What about if you hear about an accident involving the elderly? Explain your answers.
If I read about a car accident with teenagers I'll assume it's caused by drunk driving. If I read about a car accident with elders I will assume they fell asleep at the wheel or had a heart attack or something.

3. Andy and Rob have their own slang and manner of speaking. On the surface they seem to be putting each other down, but it is clear to us that they are close friends who respect each other. What purpose does this style of language serve? Does it draw you closer together? Does it set you off from others? Explain. This kind of slang can draw you closer or apart. It will get you closer to know each other but if you go to far it can turn into a arguement,a fight, or even bloodshed.

4. In a paragraph rich with sensory detail, write about your own most frightening moment. My most frightening moment was playing football on a random day until my mom called me and told me to get home and she was crying I didn't know what to think. When I got home my mom told me that my stepbrother just crashed his truck after his graduation party. He rolled it and his arm was stuck under the hood. His friends could only stand helplessly while the truck burst into flames and they watched him burn to death.

5. Although many people did cry, Rhonda did not cry after the accident occured; she was angry. When or if a public tragedy occurs and it is not someone in your immediate family (9/11/01), how do you respond? Explain.
I would respond thinking "that could of been me". I think things happen for a reason and im glad nothin, happend to me yet.

6. One Herald editorial says that statistics don't usually "mean much, but this statistic (Rob) had a name, face,..." Do you agree that it is hard to feel emotional about the statistics when you do not have a face to relate them to?
Yes i do think thats sad because, what if you were a new student or a echange student and died by a car accident or some other tragedy do by someone elses decisions.

7. In his homework assigment, Gerald writes that he would rid the world of 3 things. What 3 things would you rid the world of? Stick
to concrete items, and back up your choices with personal reasons why you are eliminating them.
I would rid the world of all illegal drugs such as weed,beer,crack,and etc. I would get rid of drugs so people would stop dieing at such young ages. I would also rid the world of criminals or bad people. I would rid the world of criminals for breaking the law and causeing deaths, injurys, and etc. I would also rid the world of garbage so that are oceans, rivers, streams and etc. are clean from garbage.

8. Neither of Andy's parents bother to show up for the game. How important is it for you that your parents turn out for the events in which you participate? Explain.
I want my parents to show up at every game but they can't make every event. My dad makes it to all my games because Nash and I are the only kids he got. My mom doesn't make it to all my games because she has four kids, my older brother my older sister and me and Nash.

9. In Rob's absence, Andy becomes the star of the basketball team. Write about a time when your talents were overshadowed by a friend or a sibling. How did it make you feel? Did you wish that something would happen that would give you a chance to shine? Elaborate
Nash always pitched over than me in baseball and he was always better in basketball but I'm better than Nash in football. Now in basketball I start because I'm taller.

10. Andy mentions that some kids at school haven't looked him in the face since the acident;one even taped a mean note to is locker. How would you treat Andy now? Elaborate.
I would tell Andy it is not his fault and it could happen to anyone. I would say it is not his fault because I wasn't there and I don't really know what happend.

11.Does doing homework help you to perform better on tests? Does homework seem purposeful to you, or is it basically a waste of time? What alternate do you suggest? Defend your answer.
Doing homework does make you perform better on tests only if you understand what your doing.If you don't understand it, it is proabably a waste of time.If you do understand it, it will help you out a lot on your tests.

12. Do you feel that your parents 'get' you or don't understand you at all? What makes you think this? Explain.
I think my parents get me because they know what I do. They know I play sports. They know I do good in school and they come to most of my games.

13. Andy believes that his friends would talk about him if he won academic awards, and then consider Marcus's unpopularity due to his achievement. Is academic failure or apathy built into teenager's notions about what is 'cool'? What effect does academic achievement have on you?
If I got a academic achevement my parents would be proud. My parents would proabably give me money or take me out to eat. My friends really wouldn't care because most of my friends get academic awards too. If I did get one and they didn't they would proabably joke around with me calling me an over acheveir or something.

14. We learn about Andy's grades and study habits. Do you think the guidance counselor who advised him against pre-law was being realistic or unfair? Defend your answer.
I think the guidance councler is being realistic because if Andy don't do something where is he going to be in a few years.

15. In a class discussion, Keisha says, "All of us at one time or another feel like a "cinder among snowflakes. You stand out when you want to blend in. You get noticed whether you want to or not." In a paragraph, write about a time when you have felt like a "cinder among the snowflakes".
In music class i had to play a song on piano in front of everyone. I also had to pick a different tone like bells or organ. I chose organ and started playing. When I was done everyone started laughing.

16. Andy envisions that Monty will have a future as a lawyer or a doctor. But when he thinks of his own future, he sees a blank or darkness. Can you picture who you will be in 15 years? What do you envision for your future?
In the future I plan to go to colledge and when I'm done go into construction. If I were to go into construction I would need to study math,science,and maybe even take a class in wood shop or something.
