1. Put yourself in place of one of the boys who escaped the crash but was forced to watch "helplessly as Rob died." What is going through your head? How do you feel physically and mentally? How do you think that you will feel tomorrow?

If I put myself in place of one of the other boys who escaped the crash and was forced to whatch "helplessly as Rob died." I would probly be thinking why can't I save him, why can't that be me instead of him, my best friend he has his whole live a head of him. He is really good in school and on the basket ball team and now I can't save him. I would probly feel really bad and upset that my best friend was killed in a car crash with me in the car also and that I couldn't do anything to save him and that I survived and he didn't. Physically I would probly feel kinda sore and weak after the crash. In school I would probly feel embarressed and scared about what people might say to me. The next day I would probly feel really bad about every thing.

When you hear or read of a car accident that involved teenagers, what do you tend to assume was the cause of the accident? What about if you hear about an accident involving the elderly? Explain your answers.

When I heard or read about a car accident I would assume the cause of the accident would be drinking and driving or speeding. If I heard that the accident was involving elderly I would probly feel the same about the accident but I would feel worst about the teenage driving accident. The reson I would think the accident with teensagers would be over drinking and driving or speeding is because most teen accidents are caused by drinking and driving and some may be caused by speeding. The resaon I would feel more upset about the teen driving accident would be because they were probly not to far from my age.

3. Andy and Rob have their own slang and manner of speaking. On the surface they seem to be putting each other down, but it is clear to us that they are close friends who respect each other. What purpose does this style of language serve? Does it draw you closer together? Does it set you off from others? Explain.

Andy and Rob do speak in a slang way the purpose of this is to show each other how much they mean to one another and try not to hurt each other. This can draw you closer together and it can hurt your friendship but Andy and Rob are good friends and are not tring to hurt one another. This can set you off from others because not everyone is going to talk like this and slang is not proper English.

My most frightening moment was my friend and I went hiking by ourselves and we saw there was a small pond in the distance off the trail. Then we said as long as we fallow our foot steps in and out we should be ok to go see the pond then get back on the trail. We went to the pond and the pond was amazing so we decided that this would be a nice spot to stop and take a break and eat a small lunch. about a half an hour passed and we were done at the pond so we got up and we started toward what we thought was the trail. once we got on the small twisting trail in the woods t witch was not the trail we started on. It was starting to get dark and we could here the cyotes farther in the woods. I started to get scared and so was she so then we came apone a tree stand and I said I'll climb up it to see a way out because by now we knew we were not on the trail. So I climbed up the tree stand and I looked out and to me it seemed like we were in the middle of the woods and were far from the trail. Then as I skimed back over everything I saw the trail that we came on and I climbed back down and I started to lead the way out then I found a tree marker and I knew we were close to the trail. Then we fallowed all the tree markers and we found are way back to the trail and out of the woods.

7. In his homework assigment, Gerald writes that he would rid the world of 3 things. What 3 things would you rid the world of? Stick
to concrete items, and back up your choices with personal reasons why you are eliminating them.

If I could rid the world of 3 things I would rid moter cycles. The reason I would rid moter cycles would be because on Easter my dad and I went for a ride on one and we crashed the moter cycle and I got hurt really bad. The next item I would rid would be mouth wash because I think mouth wash burns your mouth and tastes bad. The next item I would rid would be polly pockets because they are really little and come with really little pices and you can lose them and choke on them.
