When you are riding a horse you can't just jump on and go and when your done just put it back in the field. It takes time to put on tack and brush off the horse and tack off the tack.
When you go to tack up you have to brush the horse/pony off. Some people put the bridal on first then the saddle. But I put the saddle on fisrt. So if the horse loses its breath && falls back the bridal don't hurt it. So I have the halter on while I put the saddle on. When I put the saddle on my horse blows out so that it dosen't tighten that much. So I have to walk her around and then tighten it again. I use a SmartCinch other then the regular girth. I love the SmartCinch! When your trail riding you only have to tighten your saddle once. Then I put the bridal on. I use a snaffle with a roller.
Now you can ride. When you get onb you have to sdit correctly. I ride western and when you have to ride western you have to sit in 2-point when you ride. I do contesting and you saddle shoukdnhave two figers between you and your saddle. Some horses can turn from leg pressure and if they do. You can turn them left by pulling your hand left pushing your left leg in. It's the same for turning right.
When your done riding you have to take the saddle and bridal off. You have to put the saddle on it's side, because it smells the nasty sweat. Then put a halter on the horse and take it to hose it off. Use cold water to hose your horse off. Make sure you get where the girth, and saddle pad was. Then walok your horse around for about 10-15 minutes to cool it off. You can give you horse treats and food, but if you dont cool off your horse and you feed at and then put it in the field it can Colic and Colic can be very dangerous for a horse. If that happens the vet will have to be called immediately.
Horse riding can be fun. But you have to do it correctly. If you don't you can harm your horse/pony and yourself.
